Bethesda

MRP Realty and Prime Finance Special Situations have acquired the Bethesda Crescent office portfolio, a four-property collection totaling 287,529 square feet in downtown Bethesda, on August 11, 2025. BizJournals reports the sale was for “$28 million through a foreclosure after affiliates of Brookfield Properties defaulted on their loan. The sale price is about a third of the $76 million loan the Brookfield entities took out against them in 2021.”

The Triumph Trek at the Rio is the ultimate celebration of strength, recovery and hope — and everyone is invited.

On Sunday, September 20, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Adventist HealthCare Rehabilitation and Adventist HealthCare Home Care Services will gather at Rio Lakefront in Gaithersburg for an untimed walk-or-wheel around the accessible lakeside path. This is not a race. Scooters, wheelchairs, walkers, strollers and every pace are welcome, and no one finishes last.

This flagship event, serving as the Kentlands Community Foundation’s largest fundraiser, is set to draw over 1,300 participants and an impressive 4,000 attendees to the area, making it Montgomery County’s largest 5K road race.

Restaurants

An enduring chapter in Wheaton’s dining history has come to a close. Cristina Ristorante Italiano, the beloved neighborhood Italian restaurant that has been a staple for over two decades, closed its doors permanently on Monday after making the decision to not renew the expiring lease.

Bethesda

U.S. District Court Judge Theodore D. Chuang sentenced Dr. Anissa Maroof, 48, of Potomac, Maryland, to 15 months in federal prison and two years of supervised release for illegally distributing and dispensing controlled substances through her Bethesda medical practice between 2019 and 2022. (more…)
