Robert E. Peary High School was located at 13300 Arctic Ave. in Aspen Hill, MD. It opened in the 1960 and closed in 1984 primarily due to declining enrollment. A Facebook group with over 4,000 members keeps its memories alive.

Beyond MoCo

Virginia’s first Buc-ee’s will open on June 30th at 838 Friedens Church Rd. in Mount Crawford, VA. It will be located at the exit 240 interchange on Interstate 81 near Harrisonburg, VA. Fans are already planning to camp out for the 6am opening, and a ribbon cutting kicks off the day at 10 AM, with live music, free samples, and giveaways adding to the celebration.

According to Variety, Maryland native Jon Bernthal will reprise his role as Frank Castle, aka The Punisher, in Sony and Marvel’s upcoming film Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Bernthal first took on the role in Netflix’s Daredevil and later starred in The Punisher. DMV

Purple Line crews have begun installing light rail tracks, reconstructing sidewalks and completing stormwater drainage and utility crossings across the intersection of Wayne Avenue and Fenton Street. This work will require a temporary full closure of the Wayne Avenue and Fenton Street intersection to vehicular traffic.
