As the Hoggle family continues to grapple with the enduring mystery surrounding the disappearance of siblings Sarah and Jacob Hoggle over a decade ago, Hagerstown Police have confirmed that a missing teen found on Monday is not Sarah Hoggle. The teen was brought to the department by a concerned citizen, sparking community speculation that it might be Sarah before authorities verified her identity and contacted her family.

Crime

A Montgomery County jury found Edgard Castro-Contreras, 21, guilty on charges of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder for his role in a 2022 gang-related shooting that killed o20-year-old Edvin Agustin Leon and critically injured another. He faces multiple life sentences plus 40 years at his August 2025 sentencing. The case involves several co-defendants linked to the MS-13 gang, with trials and sentencing still pending for others.
