Montgomery County’s Planning, Housing, and Parks Committee will meet on March 31 to review Zoning Text Amendment (ZTA) 25-02, which would allow duplexes, triplexes, townhouses, and apartment buildings in certain residential zones along major corridors if at least 15 percent of units qualify as workforce housing. Damascus

At 10:33am Friday morning, emergency responders were dispatched to the intersection of Woodfield Rd and Main St. in Damascus. The call indicated a vehicle incident involving an overturned car.

Crime

Michael Brown of Suitland, Maryland, was arrested and charged with unlawfully discharging a firearm in a Silver Spring parking lot on November 3, 2024, after investigators identified him through surveillance footage and later found a loaded, unregistered handgun in his possession.
