U.S. District Judge Theodore D. Chuang sentenced Brian Patrick Werth, 40, of Beltsville, Maryland, to 37 years in federal prison, followed by 25 years of supervised release, for two counts of producing child sexual abuse material. Werth, who is a former youth ministries director at a Rockville church when he was living in Montgomery Village, was previously convicted of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl during a youth event at the church in 2016 was sentenced to three years in prison in 2018.

Crime

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has arrested two men for stealing used cooking oil from two downtown Silver Spring restaurants using a siphon and tanks. Restaurants sell used cooking oil for biodiesel production, and one victim reported losing approximately 20,000 pounds of oil recently, valued at over $2.38 per pound. (more…)

Lines formed down the block on December 10th, when residents lined up to enjoy tacos from Mexico City’s famed Taquería El Califa de León at Tacombi’s Arlington and Bethesda location. The tacos are available until December 26th at both locations (video below by Taste MoCo).
