Silver Spring

A Dunkin/Baskin Robbins is coming to 115 University Blvd W, in the Four Corners area of Silver Spring. This was first reported by Silver Spring-focused good blog, @SilverSpringEats.

The new location will be moving in to the former home of Chevy Chase Bank and the property has been advertised as having a drive-thru, so it’s very likely that the location will keep the drive-thru.

Back on April 1st, we let you know that Bethesda Bagels would be coming to 14929-D Shady Grove Rd in Rockville, the former site of GameStop, in Fallsgrove (the GameStop location closed in January of this year).

This morning we spoke with an employee from the Wildwood location who told us that the location is hoping to open in the first or second week of January.

The founder of Sweet Frog, Derek Cha, is bringing his take on the Nashville-style hot chicken sandwich to MoCo.

The restaurant will be located in the Travilah Square Shopping Center (the shopping center is anchored by Trader Joe’s) in Rockville, between Pholuscious and Tropical Smoothie Cafe, in the 1,600 sf location that was home to El Mexicano at 10050 Darnestown Road, per H&R Retail.

Last January we let you know that Java Nation would be moving in to 121 Market Strert in the Kentlands neighborhood of Gaithersburg, which was formerly a Starbucks. Starbucks opened a new Kentlands location at 160 Kentlands Blvd at the beginning of this year that features a drive-thru.

We have been told there were material and equipment delays by manufacturers, initially pushing the opening timeframe from August to October and then November.

Galito’s Flame-Grilled Chicken will be taking over the spot that was formerly home to Nirvana Reflexology Spa at 15918 Shady Grove Road in the Shady Grove Center (shopping center that is home to The Melting Pot).

The restaurant offers chicken with “bold African flavors” and has been compared to international fast-casual restaurant Nando’s Peri Peri.

Irish-themed restaurant The Hunter’s Hound at 5471 Wisconsin Avenue in Chevy Chase opened for business this past weekend.   The restaurant will be closed for the next week due to the holidays, according to a message on its website, and will reopen on December 28th.

“Dear Friends, We had a fabulous first weekend and we can’t thank you all enough for such a warm welcome! As we were delayed so much on the opening, our staff had made plans for Christmas and as a result we will be closed for the rest of the week. We will reopen for full business on Tuesday, December 28th at 4pm. From all of us, to all of you, have a great and safe holiday and we will see you next week.”
