The U.S. Census Bureau conducts its decennial national census every 10 year. The census directly shapes federal funding allocations and congressional representation. According to 2020 data, Maryland’s population stands at 6,177,224, ranking it 18th nationally. The state has maintained steady growth of at least 7% per decade, positioning it as the 22nd fastest-growing state relative to population size. Olney

Hundreds have gathered at the “Hands Off! Olney Fights Back” protest taking place in Olney this afternoon. According to attendees, similar events are taking place across the country and in neighborhoods within the county. This appears to be one of the larger protests in the county. (more…)

Buffalo Wild Wings introduced its first ‘Buffalo Wild Wings GO’ (BWWGO) location, a scaled-down version of the restaurant that focuses on the to-go and delivery format, in Georgia back in 2020. Now, the company has signed on for its fourth upcoming location in the county– in Olney.

Daniel Fellman, a Rockville High School and Montgomery College graduate, has been selected to give the ‘Student Spotlight’ presentation at the 60th Annual Spring Symposium on Archeology, presented by the Archeological Society of Maryland, Inc. The event takes place April 5, 2025 at The Maryland Historical Trust in Crownsville, MD.
