Christian McCaffrey led the NFL with 1,459 rushing yards last year for the San Francisco 49ers. His younger brother, Luke McCaffrey, was drafted by the Washington Commanders as a wide receiver in the 3rd round of the 2024 NFL Draft and today he took a couple mini camp reps at running back.
MCPS has announced that three staff members have been honored with 2023–2024 Counselor of the Year awards. The trio—one each at the elementary, middle and high school levels—were recognized at the June 11 Board of Education business meeting.
The Montgomery Parks Foundation is raising funds to help rebuild the large playground at Greenbriar Local Park (12525 Glen Road). The large playground remains closed indefinitely due to the damage it sustained in the fire. The small playground area and the rest of the park remain open (video below).
