Damascus Alumnus Bryan Bresee Mourns Death of Sister Ella, 15: “You are the best sister a brother could ask for and I know for a fact heaven has gained a beautiful angel today,”

Ella Bresee, the younger sister of Clemson football star and former Damascus High School standout Bryan Bresee, died after a battle with an aggressive form of brain cancer, her family announced on Thursday.

Bryan Bresee posted the following message on Instagram on Thursday, “My beautiful sister Ella you amazed me every single day with the fight that you put up and how joyful you were constantly through this battle. Never did I think I would be sitting here today saying bye to you. I want to thank you for bringing happiness to not only me but so many people. You are the best sister a brother could ask for and I know for a fact heaven has gained a beautiful angel today, Love you forever and always Ella bear.❤️

Bresee was able to spend last week with his little sister when she and his family came to Clemson for Ella’s planned appearance with the Clemson team at last week’s game against Furman. Ella became sick on Friday, prior to the game, and was taken to a local emergency room before being air-lifted to DC on Saturday morning to be closer to the family’s Maryland home.

Clemson wore special shirts on their home opener against Furman on Sept. 10 to celebrate Ella. The shirts read “E11A Strong,” with the 11 representing Bryan Bresee’s jersey number. Clemson University fans are invited to wear grey to Memorial Stadium for the game against Louisiana Tech on Saturday, September 17th in memory of Ella Bresee and in solidarity with the Bresee family and everyone affected by the battle against brain cancer.
