Per MCPD: A Fort Washington man has been charged in connection with a hit and run committed on Wednesday, January 25, 2023. Anthony Warren Offutt is alleged to have been driving an Isuzu NRR box truck when, at approximately 3:13 p.m., he struck an adult male in the intersection of Elm Street and Woodmont Avenue.
Montgomery County Fire Rescue responded and the victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
46-year-old Offutt has been charged with failure to stop for a pedestrian in a crosswalk, negligent driving, failure to immediately return and remain at the scene of an accident involving bodily injury and other related charges.
The charges are not a finding of guilt. Anthony Warren Offutt is presumed innocent until proven guilty, pending the outcome of a trial.
