A Montgomery County jury found Carlo Yaque del Cid, 32, of Hyattsville, guilty of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder in the 2022 death of Edvin Agustin Leon. The jury also convicted him of attempted first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder for the shooting of a second victim, along with two counts of using a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence and participation in a criminal organization resulting in death.

Detectives with the Montgomery County Department of Police are asking for the public’s help identifying several suspects connected to a first-degree assault that occurred February 4 at Wheaton Mall. Police said the incident happened at approximately 12 pm when the victim entered a restroom inside the mall.
