This past summer we let you know that Kats Kitchen and Company is coming to 12854 New Hampshire Ave in Colesville, previously the home of Dominic’s Italian Grille– Dominic’s closed permanently in January. The restaurant is now open for business as of Friday, December 15th.
Qualifying High School students are encouraged to sign up for testing for the prestigous Maryland Seal of Biliteracy at various high schools.
Peter Kim is a licensed master barber who has owned Burtonsville barbershop since 1994. He has also been described as “the nicest man in Burtonsville” by Burtonsville 2.0 admin Dave Golden- an honor many in the community agree with based on their interactions with Kim. He recently sold the shop and will be retiring at the end of the month.
The City of Rockville is seeking artists for two new murals. The murals will be located at the Twinbrook Community Center Annex and College Gardens Park. (more…)
USA Climbing has announced that the USA Climbing National Team Trials and Paraclimbing National Championships will be combined into one National Team-qualifying event for the Elite and Paraclimbing series for the 2024 season- and they’ll both be held in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

According to the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office, “Today in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, MD, the Honorable Sharon Burrell sentenced defendant, Kevin Orihuela, to ten years in prison suspend all but four years to serve and five years of supervised probation upon release. Per MCPD: “Gaithersburg, MD – “Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 4th District Investigative Section are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on Sunday, November 26, 2023, in the 11400 block of Amherst Avenue in Wheaton. Detectives have released surveillance video of the suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him. (more…)
