A DUI arrest in Silver Spring (Fairland area) late Friday night led to the seizure of felony-level drugs and the arrest of two people who were not from Montgomery County, according to Montgomery County Police. Additional details about the suspects were not shared.

Detectives with the Charles County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a Rockville man in connection with a regional series of burglaries that targeted newly constructed homes and resulted in the theft of circuit breakers valued at tens of thousands of dollars.

Fencing has gone up around the iconic Roses store at 94th Street in Ocean City, a visible sign that demolition of the iconic building could be approaching. The store was a landmark and quick stop for many Marylanders vacationing in Ocean City for several decades.

Anthony G. Brown announced that a Baltimore County judge sentenced Michael C. Okolo, 68, of Parkville, MD, to six months in jail after a jury convicted him of two counts of insurance fraud and one count of obstruction of justice related to misappropriating $36,500 from a client and fabricating evidence.

A 23-year-old Silver Spring woman has been charged with manslaughter by vehicle due to gross negligence and related traffic offenses following an August 2025 crash that led to the death of an 85-year-old passenger.
