The annual Kentlands Bar Crawl saw record participation this year, with approximately 150 attendees coming together to raise funds for a good cause. The event, held over the weekend, brought in nearly $1,500 for Comfort Cases, a nonprofit organization that supports children entering the foster care system by providing them with backpacks filled with personal care items and comfort essentials.

On Thursday, October 2, Wootton Robotics, in partnership with Bonchon Rockville, held a Robotics Fair at Rockville Town Center. Montgomery County’s new “Bring Your Own Bag” law will take effect on January 1, 2026, banning most plastic carryout bags and increasing the fee for paper bags to 10 cents. The new law, passed earlier this year by the Montgomery County Council, is designed to reduce plastic waste, improve water quality, and encourage the use of reusable bags.
