The Maryland Terrapins stayed undefeated on Saturday afternoon with a commanding 44-17 win over the Towson Tigers, and two Montgomery County products played leading roles in the victory. Quince Orchard graduate Iverson Howard paced the Terps on the ground, while Paint Branch alumnus Octavian Smith Jr. delivered the team’s biggest performance through the air.

Rockville has a new late-night spot for kebab lovers. Yuxaflame, located at 1488 Rockville Pike A (outside of Hulu Skewers), is now open from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. nightly, serving up a short but flavorful menu of just three dishes (video below).

When a man from England stumbled upon a Facebook group called “Maryland is a cult. Not a state,” he decided to join purely because the name made him laugh. Having never visited the U.S., let alone Maryland, his only prior association with the word “Maryland” was a popular British brand of cookies. But after four months in the group, he’s developed a surprisingly sharp understanding of what makes Marylanders tick.

Beyond MoCo

Maryland Attorney General Anthony G. Brown announced a settlement requiring Heather Hill Apartments in Prince George’s County to provide an estimated $11.2 million in restitution for operating without a rental license, marking the largest landlord/tenant restitution case by the Consumer Protection Division.
