The Washington Commanders’ linebacker corps is generating significant buzz ahead of the upcoming NFL season, with two of their key defensive players earning top honors from former NFL linebacker and current NFL Network analyst, Manti Te’o. On a social media post from the NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football,” Te’o unveiled his Top 10 linebackers list for the upcoming season, placing veteran phenom Bobby Wagner at #1 overall and welcoming Frankie Luvu into the elite group at #10.

The Montgomery County Council will review Expedited Bill 19-25 on Monday, July 28, which proposes a seasonal exemption allowing landscape professionals to use gas-powered leaf blowers from October 1 to December 31, weekdays between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., with the exemption set to expire three years after enactment. The lead sponsor of Bill 19-25 is Councilmember Gabe Albornoz, with Councilmembers Dawn Luedtke, Marilyn Balcombe and Sidney Katz as cosponsors. (more…)

The Montgomery County Police Department is marking the 50th anniversary of the unsolved 1975 murder of 15-year-old Kathy Beatty, who was found unconscious and sexually assaulted in a wooded area behind the former K-Mart in Aspen Hill, later dying from her injuries.
