Flags for Our Heroes, featuring a giant display of American flags, returns to the lawn at Bohrer Park at Summit Hall Farm in Gaithersburg on Friday, May 23 through Monday, May 26. A formal opening ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 24 at 11 a.m. There will be a flag retirement ceremony on Sunday, May 25 at 6:30 p.m.

MCPS has sent a message to the community warning of the potentially dangerous “TikTok Chromebook Challenge” that encourages students to misuse or intentionally damage school-issued Chromebooks. This “Chromebook Challenge” encourages students to purposefully cause their devices to short out or catch fire by inserting metal or lead into the charging or USB port, or even piercing the device’s battery.
