A black bear was caught on camera strolling across a Darnestown driveway on Tuesday night, shortly after 8pm. The bear appeared to make its way towards the trash and recycling bin, which were securely closed, before wandering off. There were multiple sightings of the bear in the Darnestown area on Tuesday.
Cuppa Tea has announced its upcoming soft opening in the space that was previously home to Tea-Do X Mochinut at 838 Rockville Pike. Tea-Do X Mochinut closed permanently last October. The dual concept restaurant featured menus from chains Mochinut and Tea-Do Cafe.

VisArts (155 Gibbs St. in Rockville Town Square), a hub for artistic exploration and social impact that has been bringing people together through shared creative experiences since 1987, has announced it has selected its new CEO after a national search. Lisa Mary Ryder will be taking on the role starting May 27th. She will be taking over for the recently retired Alice Nappy, who was with VisArts for 15 years. Heller An Shapiro, who previously led a board development project for VisArts, is guiding programming until Ryder starts her new role.
