Gaithersburg

The City of Gaithersburg has announced new changes to its Gaithersburg Downpayment Assistance program, or Gaithersburg DPA. The program now allows borrowers to access up to $40,000 in downpayment and closing cost assistance. These loans remain 0% deferred and are accessible to eligible first-time homebuyers purchasing within the City of Gaithersburg corporate limits.

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) arrested a woman after she allegedly attempted to breach a closed race route during the Pikes Peek race on April 27, 2025, driving toward a crowd of runners and leading officers on a pursuit before being arrested and charged with first-degree assault and disorderly conduct.
