In October, we reported that Zaxbys was entering the Maryland market with three locations along the Eastern Shore. Now, Zaxbys is planning to open four additional restaurants across Baltimore and Howard counties. Zaxbys menu includes fried chicken sandwiches, wings, chicken fingers known as “Zingers,” crinkle-cut fries, and Texas toast.

Rehoboth Beach, a popular vacation destination for many in our area, has recently adopted a curfew for minors. This past Friday, the Rehoboth Beach Board of Commissioners adopted an amendment to the city code that establishes a curfew for minors, individuals who are under 18 years of age, from 11 pm-5 am daily.

With the median home sales price having skyrocketed from $313,000 in Q1 2019 to $416,900 in Q1 2025, the personal-finance website WalletHub today released its report on 2025’s Most (and Least) Affordable Cities for Home Buyers, with nearby Baltimore coming in as the #7 most affordable large city in the country and #25 overall (including mid-sized cities).

The Frederick County Health Department is warning residents about the presence of 5F-ADB, a dangerous and illegal synthetic cannabinoid also known as Spice or K2, found in products labeled “THC, Diazy La Ruse, Peufra The Tiger.” The drug can cause severe health effects or death, and the department urges anyone witnessing an overdose to administer Narcan and call 911 immediately. Beverly Ochoa, 30, of Derwood, Maryland, was sentenced today to a 12-month suspended sentence for first-degree theft in the stealing of $2,600 cash from the elderly wife of a hospice patient, announced U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro and Chief Pamela Smith, of the Metropolitan Police Department.
