Earlier this week, NFL reporter Aaron Wilson shared that TCU  linebacker Johnny Hodges was invited to the Los Angeles Chargers rookie minicamp. Hodges is a Montgomery County native from Darnestown who graduated from Quince Orchard High School in 2019.

A black bear was caught on camera strolling across a Darnestown driveway on Tuesday night, shortly after 8pm. The bear appeared to make its way towards the trash and recycling bin, which were securely closed, before wandering off. There were multiple sightings of the bear in the Darnestown area on Tuesday.

Travilah Beer & Wine, a longtime tenant at Travilah Square in Rockville, has relocated within the shopping center from 10046 Darnestown Rd to 10028 Darnestown Rd and is now open. The new location was previously occupied by Title Boxing, which has since moved to Traville Village shopping center. (more…)

For over five years, Windridge Vineyards (15700 Darnestown Rd.) has been celebrated for its breathtaking views and tranquil ambiance, becoming a popular gathering spot for locals. Starting March 1st, when the winery reopens after its Winter Break, it will implement a 21+ service model, marking a new chapter in its offerings.


The Potomac Horse Center (PHC) closed permanently in July, after 31 years leasing the location from Montgomery Parks (14211 Quince Orchard Rd in North Potomac). In a statement in May, Montgomery Parks wrote that the PHC, a private business, notified Montgomery Parks of its intent to end its lease. Now, Montgomery Parks is preparing the site for the future which will include the demolition of buildings on site that are beyond repair.
