The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) has initiated a comprehensive road repair project on Democracy Boulevard, stretching from I-270 to Seven Locks Road. The project, aimed at improving infrastructure for residents and motorists, will be executed in two phases and is expected to take approximately 10 to 12 weeks to complete, weather permitting.
In response to a heat emergency alert, the Montgomery County Department of Transportation is providing free bottled water on Ride On buses to help keep passengers safe and hydrated during a week of dangerously high temperatures.
Following Thursday evening’s severe storms, Montgomery County transportation crews began clearing more than 170 reports of downed trees and debris blocking roads, with recovery efforts focused on the hardest-hit areas and continuing through the weekend. (more…)
Montgomery County Ride On will provide free shuttle bus service on Saturday, June 21, for the Juneteenth event at BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown, with stops at Montgomery College and Northwest High School every 30 minutes from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
On Wednesday, June 25 at 6:30 p.m., MCDOT will hold a virtual public meeting to present proposed sidewalk and safety improvements near three Germantown schools as part of a walkability study aimed at enhancing routes for students who walk or bike to school.
Montgomery County has announced that for the Juneteenth holiday on Thursday, June 19, County offices will be closed and most transit services, including Ride On buses and Metrorail, will operate on holiday or weekend schedules, with parking free at public garages, lots, and meters. (more…)
