Giuseppi’s Kentlands has shared the sad news of the passing of co-owner Eugene “Gene” Lee. Lee passed away at the age of 76 earlier this month and is remembered by many in the community as a smiling and welcoming presence at Giuseppi’s Kentlands location (355 Kentlands Blvd.).

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) has arrested a federal agent accused of sexual assault. Detectives believe there may be additional victims. The agent, Eduardo Valdivia, was previously found not guilty of attempted murder by a jury in 2022 after he was charged for an off-duty shooting that occurred on a Metro train in Bethesda on December 15, 2020.
Montgomery County has announced it is advancing its zero waste goals through expanded recycling and composting programs, improved waste diversion technologies, and community engagement, achieving a 45% recycling rate—significantly above the national average of 32%.
