The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) announced that eastbound Montrose Rd. is closed at Tildenwood Dr. following a fatal collision involving a vehicle and a motorcyclist Sunday morning.
After a few months of no movement, Dave’s Hot Chicken is officially on its way to Rockville, with “Coming Soon” signage now up at its second Montgomery County location. The California-based chain, which made its county debut in White Oak in November 2024, will soon open at 11564 Rockville Pike in the Metro Pike Shopping Center. An exact date is not yet available.

Barry Dufek has been appointed as the Rockville City Police Department’s new deputy police chief and officially joined the department on September 29, with a ceremonial swearing-in by the Mayor and Council scheduled in the coming week. Dufek brings 25 years of law enforcement experience, including leadership roles in patrol, investigations, and administration, and most recently served as chief of police in Purcellville, Virginia.
