After six years, a Montgomery County landmark is officially back. The Olney Ale House, which has stood in some form since 1924, has reopened its doors following a full rebuild and renovation after the devastating 2019 fire that shuttered the beloved restaurant. Permanent signage has now been installed for Go Fresh 365, the Chinese and Asian supermarket chain that will replace Safeway at 1800 Rockville Pike in The Galvan at Twinbrook.
A longtime staple of Bethesda’s dining scene has closed its doors. Woodmont Grill, located at 7715 Woodmont Avenue and formerly known as Houston’s, has officially ceased operations, according to a message posted on the restaurant’s website.
A Gaithersburg favorite is getting ready for a new chapter. Taco Bar El Güero, which closed its longtime home inside the Shell station at 10003 B Fields Rd earlier this month, is preparing to open its new restaurant in Downtown Crown this November. The upcoming location, at 200 Ellington Avenue, will take over the space that previously housed BurgerIM and Smashburger (sneak peek available below).
