Sardi’s Pollo A La Brasa, founded in 2008 by cousins Phil E. Sardelis and Phil G. Sardelis from Montgomery County, has recently announced plans to expand with five new locations in Maryland. As we reported back in January, one of the upcoming restaurants will be in Rockville and Sardi’s has recently received its permit to begin construction.

Eater DC has released its list of “Hottest New Brunches to Try in DC”, highlighting restaurants that have recently released brunch menus within the last few months. One Maryland restaurant, located here in Montgomery County, was featured on the list.
50 Top Pizza, an esteemed pizza evaluation site based in Paestum, Italy, near Naples, has unveiled its 2025 Top 50 Pizza list. Known for its rigorous and anonymous inspections, 50 Top Pizza is an independent online guide that ensures unbiased evaluations by paying for meals in full. This year, Maryland proudly contributed with two pizzerias making the list: Inferno Pizzeria Napoletana in Gaithersburg at 21st place, and Angeli’s in Baltimore at 47th.
Ramen by Uzu, renowned for being one of the best ramen restaurants in the area according to The Washington Post, has expanded from its original location inside Union Market to include an additional location at 3210 Grace St NW in Georgetown. Chef Hiro Mitsui, the culinary mind behind Uzu and a resident of Silver Spring, has expressed his ambition to open a location in Montgomery County soon.
In the summer of 2019, we announced that Bear Brick Oven Pizza would take over the old Greek Islands Grill location on New Hampshire Avenue in Cloverly. After delays due to COVID, the restaurant opened its doors in April 2021. Now, after a little over four years, the restaurant has closed.
Attman’s Delicatessen is a true Maryland institution, renowned for its authentic Jewish American deli fare and its enduring family legacy. Established in 1915 on Baltimore’s historic “Corned Beef Row” by Ukrainian immigrant Harry Attman, the deli initially began as a small grocery store selling imported delicacies. Over time, it shifted its focus to the now-famous deli meats and sandwiches that have made it a beloved landmark with an additional location opening in Montgomery County, MD in 2012 and Harbor Point (Baltimore) last year.
