Norman’s Hallmark continues to grow its brick-and-mortar footprint with a portfolio of 22 stores in Maryland. The acquisition includes locations in Annapolis, Baltimore, Bethesda (Montgomery Mall), Columbia, Frederick and Rockville (Congressional Plaza) and marks the company’s largest portfolio addition in its 86-year history.

This past March we let you know that DICK’S Sporting Goods at 2 Grand Corner in Gaithersburg’s Rio Lakefront is transforming into a DICK’S House of Sport– a concept designed to deliver a completely immersive experience for shoppers. The store is now aiming for a January 2026 completion date (progress photos available below).
Montgomery County-based apparel company Collars & Co., famously known for its appearance on ABC’s “Shark Tank,” is expanding its local presence with the opening of a new pop-up store in Rockville’s Congressional Plaza this fall.
Cinnabon is celebrating its 40th anniversary by offering its Classic Cinnamon Roll for $1.25, the same price as when the bakery first opened in 1985. Yesterday we reported that the Staples store at 20906 Frederick Road STE A is preparing for its permanent closure. A store manager has confirmed the office supply retailer will officially close its doors for the final time on Thursday, August 29th. However, the storefront won’t be vacant for long. Dollar Tree has secured the necessary permit to begin work on the space.

Halloween enthusiasts in Gaithersburg can rejoice as Spirit Halloween is set to return to the Rio Lakefront. The seasonal retailer will once again be taking over the former Pier 1 Imports space at 30 Grand Corner Avenue, bringing its vast selection of costumes, decorations, and spooky animatronics back to the popular destination.
Pandora is now open in Suite 804 at the Clarksburg Premium Outlets, on Low Street across from Levi’s.
