Kennedy High School’s Broadcast Journalism and Communications Academy in Silver Spring earned national recognition this year, taking home two Student Production Awards from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) for their work on The Sword, the school’s student-produced news magazine show.

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded at approximately 9:05 a.m. on Friday to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Good Hope Road and Good Hope Drive in Silver Spring involving a Ford F-150 and a black Acura RDX. MCPD Update: “The two-vehicle collision on Good Hope Rd. is now being investigated as a fatality. One adult male pronounced dead on scene. An adult male and juvenile in the second vehicle, transported with non-life-threatening injuries. Good Hope Rd. remains closed at this time.”
