The Montgomery County Department of Police- Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) is investigating a serious pedestrian collision involving a 13-year-old girl that occurred on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at 6:17 pm.
A serious crash shut down a portion of Georgia Avenue Sunday evening after a pedestrian was struck near the Forest Glen and Wheaton area, according to Montgomery County authorities.
Lines wrapped around the block in Wheaton on Sunday, October 12, as Maryland’s first Pollo Pinulito opened to overwhelming crowds. The Guatemalan fried chicken restaurant drew hundreds of customers throughout the day, with many waiting an hour or more to try the popular chain.
Update: The incident is now being investigated as a homicide. Patrol officers later located the suspect, leading to a pursuit that ended in a crash. The suspect has been taken into custody, and the investigation remains active and ongoing.
Montgomery County Police 4th District officers responded at 3:16 p.m. on Friday to a collision involving a vehicle and a scooter in the 1900 block of Randolph Road in Wheaton. (more…)
The Montgomery County Government has opened the Mobilize Montgomery Federal Workforce Career Center (FWCC) in Wheaton, the nation’s first dedicated facility to support displaced federal workers through job placement, career coaching, and financial counseling.
Sir Walter Raleigh Inn is fondly remembered as an affordable steakhouse known for its extensive salad bar, making it a popular spot for homecoming dinners and birthday celebrations. The Montgomery Village location, now a CVS, closed in 2005, but the chain once had multiple locations across the DC Metro area, including Baltimore, Bethesda, Wheaton, and Alexandria. (more…)
