MoCo History

Montgomery Parks will shine a light on stories of the brave women of the Underground Railroad and the history of a 200-year-old former Quaker plantation in its September and October History Hour lecture series. Park historians will present the sessions on September 19 and October 17, from 6 – 7 p.m. at Josiah Henson Museum and Park.

Sherwood High School principal Timothy Britton sent a letter to the school community informing of a serious incident that occurred at the school involving the discover of a “small rope tied in a manner resembling a noose, draped over the fence surrounding the school’s tennis courts.” The letter can be seen in full below:

On Monday, Montgomery County officials, led by Executive Marc Elrich and Council President Andrew Friedson, celebrated the launch of Phase 1 of the Great Seneca Transit Network, introducing two new Ride On extRa bus lines, “Pink” and “Lime.”
