The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services is seeking volunteers to assist with the annual Point-In-Time Count, an overnight effort scheduled for Wednesday, January 28, to identify unsheltered individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

It was a record-breaking night in downtown Washington DC as the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) brought its Takeover Tour to Capital One Arena. The matchup featured the New York Sirens and the Montréal Victoire, marking a major milestone for the league, which launched its inaugural season in January 2024 and now includes eight teams across the United States and Canada.
Sphere Entertainment, the State of Maryland, Prince George’s County, and Peterson Companies announced plans to pursue development of a Sphere venue at National Harbor, a move that would bring one of the most technologically advanced entertainment destinations in the world to the DMV region.
If approved, National Harbor would become the second U.S. location for Sphere and the first to use the company’s smaller-scale venue design model. The project would also create a new landmark for Maryland while significantly expanding the region’s entertainment and tourism offerings.
