The annual Kentlands Bar Crawl saw record participation this year, with approximately 150 attendees coming together to raise funds for a good cause. The event, held over the weekend, brought in nearly $1,500 for Comfort Cases, a nonprofit organization that supports children entering the foster care system by providing them with backpacks filled with personal care items and comfort essentials.

MoCo Government

Montgomery County’s new “Bring Your Own Bag” law will take effect on January 1, 2026, banning most plastic carryout bags and increasing the fee for paper bags to 10 cents. The new law, passed earlier this year by the Montgomery County Council, is designed to reduce plastic waste, improve water quality, and encourage the use of reusable bags.

The Washington Spirit broke its club record for single season home attendance with this afternoon’s strong crowd of 17,422 at Audi Field, the team announced today. The Spirit has welcomed 181,324 fans through 12 regular season home matches in 2025, passing last season’s record of 181,226 across 13 matches.

Montgomery Village

Palacio De Perú has officially opened its first Montgomery County restaurant at 19222 Montgomery Village Avenue, in the Montgomery Village Center. The new eatery takes over the former Moe’s Southwest Grill space, which closed at the end of August 2024.
