CBS’s hit sitcom Ghosts has solidified its place as one of America’s favorite shows, ranking as the 16th most-watched program in the 2024-25 Nielsen ratings with 12.1 million viewers. It was also the 11th most watched network series. While the national success is impressive, the series carries an especially meaningful connection for Montgomery County, as two of its stars are graduates of Rockville’s Thomas S. Wootton High School.

Bethesda

Bethesda’s biggest food festival is returning this fall, and with it come several road closures to accommodate the thousands of attendees expected in Woodmont Triangle. The 33rd annual Taste of Bethesda will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and drivers should plan ahead as key streets in downtown Bethesda will be blocked to traffic.

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) is asking for the public’s help in locating 18-year-old Joshua Carter and 25-year-old Justin Michael Greene Collins of Silver Spring, who are wanted in connection with the September 21 homicide of Akwalabeng Fontava and the kidnapping of two victims. Bethesda

Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings, a New York-based, Michelin-recommended restaurant, will open on Wednesday, October 1 at Westfield Montgomery in Bethesda. The new location brings Shanghainese dim sum and Jiangsu-Zhejiang cuisine to the mall’s dining terrace in the former Urban Plates space, next to Shake Shack. (more…)


MCPD

At a press conference in Wheaton, Montgomery County and state leaders announced that two new speed enforcement laws will take effect October 1, introducing higher fines for drivers traveling 16 miles per hour or more above the speed limit and allowing automated cameras on high-crash roadways.
