A Washington Commanders spokesperson has released a statement after DC Council chairman Phil Mendelson proposed pulling the Commanders stadium deal from the upcoming budget. A NASA sounding rocket will carry student experiments to suborbital space. The launch is scheduled for Thursday, June 26, with the window opening at 5:30 a.m. EDT. Weather permitting, the rocket may be visible in parts of Maryland and Virginia.

Back in May 2024, we announced that Classic Bakery would be opening a new location at 18195 Village Center Dr. in Olney– its third overall, joining Gaithersburg and Tyson’s Corner. According to their social media post on Wednesday, the new bakery will open its doors on Friday, June 27th.
The Montgomery County Office of Animal Services seized 23 dogs from an unlicensed doggie daycare in Silver Spring on June 24 following a complaint, placing them in protective custody while the investigation remains ongoing.
