The Washington Commanders announced today that Brian Schneider has been named the team’s new assistant special teams coordinator. Schneider takes over for John Glenn who served as the team’s assistant special teams coordinator during the 2024-25 season. Jesse Madden has been added to the coaching staff as an offensive quality control coach. Madden joins the team following his graduation from the University of Michigan.

DC Sports

The Washington Commanders are coming off a successful 12-5 season, reaching the NFC Championship before losing to the eventual Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. With a strong turnaround driven by a mix of young players and veterans, the team now faces decisions about re-signing 29 of its free agents in addition to looking for outside talent to bring in. We will provide our predictions on the likelihood of each free agent from this past season’s team returning to the team next year.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a single-vehicle crash on the on-ramp from West Montgomery Avenue to southbound I-270 on Tuesday morning after a driver struck a tree, causing some lane blockages. (more…)

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Storm Watch for St. Mary’s County in southern Maryland from 10am Wednesday morning until early Thursday morning, but projected snow totals have decreased for the rest of the state.
