Quincy Wilson, a rising junior at the Bullis School in Potomac, became the youngest male U.S. track Olympian when he ran the opening leg of Round 1 of the U.S. 4×400-meter relay Friday. Now, he’s the youngest male Olympic track and field gold medalist ever…and school starts in two and a half weeks.

Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church will hold its annual Greek festival starting Friday, September 6th and running until Sunday, September 8th. The festival will take place over three days–  on the grounds of Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, located at 701 Norwood Road in Silver Spring: Friday, 9/6: 4pm-9pm, Saturday, 9/7: 11am-9pm. Sunday, 9/8: 11am-7pm

Gaithersburg

In June 2023 we let you know that the owners of The Lube Center on Fields Rd. in Gaithersburg were looking to open a car wash in the space that was home to Ziki Japanese Steakhouse until 2020. A little over a year later, WLR Automotive Group has requested schematic development plan approval for an approximately 5,106 square-foot car wash facility.

DC Sports

Jayden Daniels was drafted #2 overall in this year’s NFL Draft by the Washington Commanders. Expectations are high and after generally positive reviews during training camp and joint practices with the Jets, Daniels played well in his first official NFL preseason action on Saturday afternoon.
