Event

General admission is $25 per person, which includes chili tastings. Free Admission for kids under 18, Police Officers and their Family is provided by MCPF). All proceeds benefit the Foundation’s mission to strengthen community-police relationships, support officers wellness, and enhance public safety initiatives across Montgomery County.

In addition to delicious chili, attendees can enjoy local craft beer from Lone Oak Brewery, family activities, and opportunities to meet and interact with Montgomery County police officers in a fun, relaxed setting.

Applications for the Service Year Option Program must be submitted by Saturday, June 15. The Service Year Option is a service opportunity for young adults who recently completed high school to earn at least $15 an hour and work at least 30 hours a week. (more…)


Gaithersburg

You may have noticed red lanes recently on Fields Rd. and Decoverly Dr. in and around Gaithersburg’s Crown neighborhood. These are new dedicated bus lanes that are a part of the Great Seneca Transit Network (GSTN), which will “provide frequent transit options, improving mobility and access to crucial jobs in the healthcare, biotech, and education sectors.”

MCPS recently shared the news of John Chase, math resource teacher at Walter Johnson High School, winning the Carl B. Allendoerfer Award for expository mathematical writing from the Mathematical Association of America (MAA), for an article he co-wrote, “Bacterial Growth: Not So Simple,” in Mathematics Magazine.
