Folashade Epebinu, a senior at Seneca Valley High School in Germantown, won this year’s Councilmember for a Day competition, hosted by Montgomery County Councilmember Will Jawando.
Stephen Knolls School, located at 10731 St. Margaret’s Way in Silver Spring, provides services for students with mild to severe disabilities. Last week, the school held its first ever Thanksgiving parade on November 17th.

According to the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, “On the evening of Nov. 11, Frederick County Sheriff’s Office deputies became aware of at least two calls to the Maryland State Police of Dodge Chargers racing on Interstate 270 and 70. As the night progressed, the FCSO began to receive multiple calls of vehicles drag racing in the vicinity of Executive Way, New Design Road, and Wedgewood Boulevard (Frederick, MD).
Back in March we let you know that the 100-year old building that is home to the Olney Ale House was sold to Two Sibs LLC, led by Selim Kantar, for $1.45 million. Olney Ale House, located at 2000 Olney Sandy Spring Rd (Rt. 108 and Doctor Bird Rd.), operated in the space until a kitchen fire caused the restaurant to shut down in 2019. We spoke with new owner Selim Kantar today, who told us that they are still chipping away and anticipate a late spring/early summer 2024 opening.
