The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) are investigating a fatal hit-and-run involving a pedestrian that occurred at the intersection of Columbia Pike (Route 29) and Fairland Road on Monday evening, where a 73-year-old woman was struck multiple times by at least two vehicles and pronounced dead at the scene.

Two Montgomery County elementary schools have been recognized for academic excellence and equity after earning 2025-2026 Maryland Blue Ribbon School honors.
