Montgomery County has seen multiple accidents across the region this morning as light snow and very cold temperatures created hazardous travel conditions.  MCFRS is warning drivers that the combination of snow and frigid pavement temperatures is making roads slick and icy, stating: “ATTENTION: SOME SNOW & VERY COLD TEMPERATURES WILL RESULT IN TREACHEROUS TRAVEL FOR THE FRIDAY MORNING COMMUTE… the combo of light snow and very cold temps may result in treacherous travel Friday morning. Takoma Park

Washington Gas will begin resurfacing several Takoma Park streets next week following the completion of recent gas line replacement work, according to an announcement shared by Takoma Park Police. The multi-day project will involve milling and paving across multiple neighborhoods and is expected to cause temporary traffic delays.

DMV

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for much of the region, including the District of Columbia, Prince George’s County, Anne Arundel County, Montgomery County, Fairfax County, and Arlington/Falls Church/Alexandria. The advisory is in effect from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, with forecasters warning of treacherous travel conditions during the morning commute.

Montgomery County Councilmember Will Jawando joined Council President Natali Fani-González and other officials in supporting the Trust Act, legislation that seeks to protect immigrant residents and limit the use of county resources in federal immigration enforcement.

The proposal would codify existing county policies by prohibiting discriminatory practices, ensuring access to services regardless of immigration status, and safeguarding residents’ privacy.


Clarksburg

The Montgomery County Planning Board voted on Thursday, December 4, 2025, to approve the Planning Board Draft of the Clarksburg Gateway Sector Plan and transmit it to the Montgomery County Council for its public review process. The draft plan is an update to the 1994 Clarksburg Master Plan, reimagining the underdeveloped areas of Clarksburg east of I-270 and west of Frederick Road (MD 355), which have largely remained unchanged over the past 30 years and present an opportunity for growth.
