The Maryland State Police will join communities statewide for National Night Out on Tuesday, August 5, with troopers from all 23 barracks participating in family-friendly events aimed at strengthening relationships between law enforcement and the public. Last week, the company celebrated a significant expansion of its manufacturing operations in Clarksburg, Maryland.
Over the past year, TDSI also doubled its manufacturing floor footprint through a $4 million investment, expanding production capacity to support the company’s continued growth.
Today, TDSI employs approximately 675 people in Montgomery County, including roughly 250 manufacturing employees.
As demand for its technologies continues to grow, the company continues to expand and has added more than 225 positions locally over the past three years.

Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Superintendent Dr. Thomas Taylor has given a direct and candid assessment of the ongoing payroll issues, promising a resolution by the end of this week. During an appearance on Sunil Dasgupta’s “I Hate Politics” podcast, Dr. Taylor took ownership of the problem and admitted that it is not a new challenge for the school district.
The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) is warning Montgomery County residents to expect a significant increase in the spotted lanternfly population over the next three to five years, with some areas potentially experiencing levels similar to the 2021 cicada emergence.
