Maryland Attorney General Anthony Brown and a coalition of 23 attorneys general, along with the governors of Kentucky and Pennsylvania, have filed a lawsuit challenging the Trump administration’s decision to significantly reduce AmeriCorps’ workforce and funding, arguing it unlawfully undermines federally authorized community service programs.

Throughout the day, Kaiser Permanente nurses and physicians will offer no-cost health screenings, alongside a health and wellness expo focused on preventive care education. A lively Kids’ Zone will keep children active and entertained with spin-art bikes, face painting, balloon art, games, and more.


Crime

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has released surveillance video of a suspect wanted in connection to a January shooting that occurred in the 2300 block of Price Avenue linked to an altercation at Unplugged Restaurant & Sports Bar in Wheaton. (video below)

MoCo History

In 1952, Clarence Kettler founded Kettler Brothers, Incorporated, alongside his two brothers, Milton and Charles. With a vision of creating a unique community, the Kettler brothers went on to develop Montgomery Village. Lake Whetstone, one of MV’s most iconic landmarks, first opened for boating and fishing in September 1967 (photos available below).
