Back in October we let you know that Trader Joe’s is set to open at 225 N. Washington St. in Rockville Town Square taking over the former Dawson’s Market space, which closed last summer after twelve years. This morning, community member Michelle Maurer Chite informed us that signage was being installed and we stopped by for a photo.

Andy’s Pizza is opening a new location at 145 Commerce Square Place in Gaithersburg’s Kentlands neighborhood, taking over the space formerly occupied by MOD Pizza, which closed in March 2024. A representative from Andy’s noted, “The opening is a long way off, so we do not even have a date at this time. Rugby fans in the D.C. region have a reason to cheer even louder this summer: several standout players from Old Glory DC, the DMV’s own professional rugby team, will represent the United States as USA Rugby Eagles in a major international showdown. On July 19, 2025, Audi Field in Washington, D.C., will host a historic double-header featuring the USA Men’s National Team against England, followed by the USA Women’s Team squaring off with Fiji. This match is part of England’s summer tour and serves as a key opportunity to showcase American talent ahead of the U.S.’s hosting of the 2031 Rugby World Cup. (more…)
