CBS has announced that “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” will end its run in May 2026, and that the “Late Show” franchise itself will be retired at that time. The annual Drive for Supplies distribution event is set to take place at Parkland Middle School (4610 W Frankfort Dr. Rockville, MD) on Thursday, July 24, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., or while supplies last. This event offers families the opportunity to pick up new and gently used school supplies.
The supplies have been collected and donated by Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) students and staff as they cleaned out lockers, desks, and closets at the end of the school year. The event is hosted by the Division of Sustainability and Compliance.
Jamie McIntyre, former CNN military affairs and senior Pentagon correspondent, as well as former Washington Examiner senior writer for defense and national security, will speak about how the events on 9/11 and the aftermath ushered in a “post-truth” era in America. Jamie has written extensively on this topic and draws from a life-long career in journalism, including his time at the Pentagon on 9/11.

The Maryland Natural Resources Police (NRP) is seeking public assistance in identifying an individual and vehicle involved in a hit-and-run incident that occurred in Howard County.

Fox 5’s Zip Trip is returning to Montgomery County on Friday, July 18th from 6am until 11am. They’ll be broadcasting live from Veterans Plaza in downtown Silver Spring. Earlier this year, Fox 5 made it out to Bethesda for a Zip Trip.
