The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Wind Advisory in effect from 9am to 6pm Thursday for portions of DC, central, north central, northeast, northern, southern, and western Maryland, central, northern, northwest, and western Virginia, and eastern West Virginia.
The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) is urging residents to plan ahead and avoid driving under the influence of alcohol or cannabis during the holiday season. Yelp has released its “Top 50 Places to Eat in the MD Burbs”, focusing on restaurants located in the Maryland suburbs. We are going to look at the top 10 on this list that was created by “Yelp Elites”– a group of reviewers selected based on well-written reviews, high quality photos, a detailed personal profile, and a history of “playing well with others”, according to Yelp. Eight of the top ten restaurants can be found in Montgomery County.
Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center will host a waived-fee adoption event, “Home for the Holidays,” on Dec. 14 and 15 to help find homes for pets and clear the shelter for the holiday season.
A broken gas line has been reported in the vicinity of 14th Ave. and Erskine Street in Takoma Park. Washington Gas is responding to the situation, but the estimated arrival time for their crew is currently unknown.

Montgomery County Police 3rd District officers made multiple arrests and seized weapons, drugs, and $24,000 in suspected drug money during proactive policing efforts on Tuesday night. In two separate incidents, officers recovered stolen and discarded firearms, confiscated drugs, and arrested suspects who now face felony charges. (more…)
