A Capitol Heights man has been charged with solicitation of a minor, and Montgomery County Department of Police 4th District Central Business District officers believe there may be additional victims.
The Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD) reports overall crime in the department’s 3rd District, which covers Silver Spring, has decreased by 8 percent compared to 2024.
Maryland Attorney General Anthony G. Brown announced that Andrew Joseph Egber, 61, formerly of Gaithersburg and now of Culver City, California, has pleaded guilty and been sentenced in connection with a fraudulent real estate investment scheme.

Jorge Rueda Landeros, 56, of Juarez, Mexico, was sentenced to 25 years in prison today by Judge Rachel McGuckian in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland.
