The community is rallying around 22-year-old Kyler Emmanuel and his family after he was struck by the driver of a vehicle in a hit-and-run on Dorsey Rd. in Hanover, MD (Anne Arundel County) early Saturday morning. The City of Gaithersburg has shared that effective July 1, 2025, the City of Gaithersburg will implement a new Residential Permit Parking (RPP) program and changes to the Olde Towne Commercial Parking Pass program. The new changes will improve parking availability, accessibility, and overall traffic management.

Gaithersburg’s free SummerFest celebration will take place on Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 6 to 11 p.m. at Bohrer Park, featuring live music, food and craft beverages, family activities, a 9:20 p.m. fireworks show, and a SummerGlo After Party. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early, follow safety guidelines, and plan ahead for traffic and parking; fireworks will be rescheduled to June 29 in case of inclement weather.
