Back in January we let you know that bartaco signed on to open its first Maryland location at 11886 Grand Park Ave. in North Bethesda’s Pike & Rose. The restaurant has received a permit valued at $1.12 million and has started to work on renovating the space, according to Maryland Newsletters. Loehmann’s Plaza, a shopping center in Rockville/North Bethesda, is moving forward with its planned redevelopment into a mixed-use residential and retail community, and a new grocery store is a key part of the project.

Last month, we let you know that Harris Teeter, located at 11845 Old Georgetown Rd. in North Bethesda, is set to close permanently. A customer service representative from the Gaithersburg store confirmed the North Bethesda store is now closed.
Eater DC recently unveiled its list of “The Best Bakeries Around D.C.,” featuring standout destinations for “extra-crusty levain, flaky croissants, brioche doughnuts, baklava, cupcakes, French baguettes, and everything in between.” Among the bakeries recognized, Fresh Baguette and Boulangerie Christophe, which have locations in Maryland, were highlighted. However, only one bakery on the list originated in Maryland.
