According to police, “On February 16 at approximately 6:32 pm, Takoma Park Police responded to the 7600 block of New Hampshire Avenue (Aldi’s) for the report of a larceny and assault that had just occurred. Upon police arrival, Cruz was being detained by employees at the establishment. Cruz was armed with a knife, which the employees managed to disarm and secure before police intervention.
Cruz was arrested, charged accordingly, and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit. This incident occurred in Ward 6.”
