Fara Dillon has been named the 2025 MCPS Middle School Counselor of the Year. An MCPS alumna, Dillon began her educational journey at Stone Mill Elementary– where she also served as a counseling intern in 2020– then attended Cabin John Middle School and graduated from Wootton High School, where she interned as a counselor in 2019.
Montgomery County’s minimum wage will increase by 50 cents on July 1, 2025, adjusting for inflation as required by county law. The new rates will be $17.65 per hour for large employers, $16 per hour for mid-size employers, and $15.50 per hour for small employers. (more…)

This morning we reported that the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) responded to a shooting involving multiple suspects and a tow truck driver overnight in Montgomery Village. This afternoon we heard from the driver of the tow truck. Photos of some of the damage can be seen below.
