Governor Wes Moore announced that SJ Incorporation will open a manufacturing facility in Cascade, Maryland, expected to create 300 jobs over the next four years. The company will produce medical products at the site, located at the redeveloped Fort Ritchie.

The Montgomery College class of 2025 will be recognized at the 78th Annual Commencement on Friday, May 23, with more than 1,320 graduates participating and over 3,100 total awardees representing 116 countries. The College will honor students from all campuses and programs, including four Board of Trustees Academic Excellence Award recipients, with the ceremony held at the Rockville Campus Athletic Field.
The Montgomery County Council unanimously approved a $7.6 billion Fiscal Year 2026 Operating Budget and a $6 billion amended FY25–30 Capital Improvements Program. The budget maintains tax rates while prioritizing education, public safety, social services, housing, and transportation, and includes funding increases for Montgomery County Public Schools, Ride On bus service, and health and human services, with both plans set to take effect July 1. The winners have been announced for the Montgomery County Commission for Women’s eighth annual Girl Power Contest, which celebrates Women’s History Month.
