On April 22, The Washington Post announced the winners and finalists for its 2025 Principal and Teacher of the Year Awards. Each year, the publication recognizes those who demonstrate exceptional school leadership and contribute significantly to advancing education in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) is investigating three overnight shootings that occurred in Germantown, Derwood, and Gaithersburg, believed to be connected and targeted, with two men injured and no suspects identified.
